Technology partners combine expertise to bring sustainable solutions to the maritime market
SkySails, DSM Dyneema and Gleistein have formed a unique technology partnership to bring sustainable solutions to the maritime market. By sharing their expertise in synthetic fibers and rope construction, DSM Dyneema and Gleistein are two of the key enablers for SkySails in the development of the SkySails towing kite technology. As the world’s most powerful and effective wind propulsion, the SkySails-System reduces fuel consumption of ships by up to 35%.
SkySails, DSM Dyneema and Gleistein will highlight the sustainability benefits of the SkySails wind propulsion system during SMM international trade fair. At SMM 2010, the partners will display a full-scale model of the innovative towing kite system in the transition hall (“Kaltmall”) between A1 and A4 at Hamburg Messe. Furthermore all visitors are cordially invited to visit the stands of SkySails (Hall B4.EG, Stand: 480 a/b) and Gleistein (Hall A1, Stand: 551).
