In rope and netting applications, nothing matters more than reliability. Your entire operation – and the safety of your crew – depends on your ability to consistently source high-quality equipment. But reliability is about more than just the availability of rope. It starts with the quality of the fiber within the rope itself.

It matters that Dyneema® SK78 fiber is made in the USA

The quality of a rope or net made with synthetic fiber depends on its ingredients, like the ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber used to create it. And when such raw materials are sourced from far afield, it becomes harder to verify quality and easier to fall foul of potential supply chain disruption.

That’s why it matters that Dyneema® SK78 fiber is made in the USA, at our manufacturing facility in Greenville, North Carolina. With Dyneema®, you know exactly where your fiber originates and how it is produced. Plus, most crucially, you know that the nets and ropes made with Dyneema® contain a fiber that meets the quality and safety standards your crew depends on.

A transparent manufacturing process

At Dyneema®, we control the entire production process of our fiber, starting at the molecular level. Unlike other UHMWPE manufacturers, who purchase polyethylene from outside suppliers, we produce our own. This unique backward-integrated process sets Dyneema® apart. It allows us to perform molecular engineering at the polymer stage to deliver the strongest and most reliable synthetic fiber on the market. By controlling every stage of the production process, from polymer to fiber, we ensure an extremely high level of product consistency.

In addition to controlling our entire manufacturing process, we also ensure Dyneema® fiber is backed by verified certification. Our fibers come with third-party certification from trusted bodies like ABS, DNV, and the ISCC (the latter is for Dyneema® fiber from renewable raw materials), giving you confidence in the origin, quality, and performance of Dyneema® fiber in end-use applications.

Keeping supply chains close to our customers and end users

Just as reliability is crucial in any rope or netting product, it’s also essential for supply chain security. To this end, we manufacture the world’s strongest fiber™ close to our customers in the US, using efficient local-for-local shipments to significantly shorten lead times. This reduces your exposure to the uncertainties and delays associated with long-distance transportation, border crossings, and global logistics bottlenecks. Our global production network, which spans the US, the Netherlands, Japan, and China, ensures that we are best positioned to reliably serve our customers wherever they are in the world.

This global manufacturing footprint enables our customers and end-users to reshore a vital raw material and strengthens the stability of their supply chains too. Our Greenville, North Carolina manufacturing site can also supply Dyneema® fiber with a bio-circular feedstock (mass balanced) upon request and the site utilizes 100% purchased renewable electricity, which can help contribute to your Scope 3 emissions goals.

An ultra-strong supply chain for the world’s strongest fiber™

When safety and operational efficiency are non-negotiable, reliability must be built into your operations. American-made Dyneema® SK78 fiber offers more than exceptional end-product performance: it delivers traceability, certification you can trust, and supply chain security you can count on. For the maritime, heavy lift, and industrial industries, that means more robust lines and netting, fewer supply disruptions, and greater peace of mind for key stakeholders.
